My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

3-9-09 Buster has finally found just the right family. We are so happy for this tripod cutie!

1/24/09 Poor Buster- people keep turning him down because he has 3 legs- he is so sweet and loving and just a really nice guy.His foster mom sent another update- "I have Buster here and he is a sweetheart. He is a bundle of energy and 3 legs do not slow him down. He loves playing with my houseful of dogs-- loves Brady and Sam who roughouse with him. I thought he couldn't manage stairs on his own-- boy, was I wrong. He can go up and down with no problem at all. He is very afraid of cars and cannot be walked near a road or on a road... My mother tried and found he freaks out just hearing a car-- seeing one is awful for him. I guess his accident really stays with him. Whoever adopts him will have an active, loving little dog. He is a typical puppy, however, and seems to have periods of high energy (getting into trouble!) and then flops down for a rest. He has grown a lot and I think he must weigh between 30 and 35 pounds. I picked him up and he is a sturdy little guy. His big paws tell me he still has some growing to do. He will probably weigh at least 50 lbs before he is through."

1/8/08 Buster is such a doll- here is what his foster mom has to say about him.."It's funny you ask about cats because we do have a cat and last night I tested him a little. Our cat came right near him and all Buster did was watch him. He didn't move or anything. He seemed perfectly fine that there was another animal in the room. He loves having the other dogs around. He enjoys the kids. He slept in bed with us last night and he slept through the whole night. He is great in his crate too!! No accidents at all yet. We are very proud of our little foster boy!!
Here are a bunch of pictures of Buster. As you can see he is having a great time. I really think he will benefit having a doggie friend to live with at his new home. Or someone that can keep him busy. Again he does so well with laying with us too but he loves to have fun. He likes to cuddle and be with you but he also can be on his own. Right now he is just laying in the recliner with one of his stuffed animals. He is so sweet!!! Buster also rides very nicely in the car- he just lays down and relaxes!
1-4-09 Buster has arrived into foster care in Maine, and he is oh, so sweet! He is in an awesome foster home with two furry foster siblings and already doing well with them. He was a little shy at first when he came off the transport but seems to be getting around just fine! Stay tuned for more info and better pictures once his foster family gets to know this sweet boy!

12-1-08 Buster is a sweetheart. He and his sister Bella are in our partner shelter in the south but would love to come home for the holidays. He is a 3-legged babe, requiring amputation after getting hit by a car, but shhhh, we haven't told him yet and he doesn't seem to notice. He runs and plays with his sister and all the other dogs and is just a love bug!

*Buster is in our partner shelter in the south but if you will consider fostering or adopting him, he can come north before Christmas.
