My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

12/23/08 Twinkle has gone to her forever home - hooray!

12-16-08 More from Twinkle's foster mom..."She is SUCH a sweet little puppy. She LOVES to cuddle and give kisses and if you whine at her she whines with you and you can even get her to sing (howl) if you do it too. She is soooo interested in my kitty and I think my cat likes the fact that she is a small dog because she really tests her limits and try to be the "bigger" animal. They are so funny together. They are really starting to get along well even after just 2 days. Twinkle loves to play. She is not so keen on the cold yet but is getting used to it. She has some toys of her own that I got her but she still tries to sneak the cat's and my daughter's toys also, but when scolded she knows she is not allowed to have them and will jump up in my lap and cuddle. Twinkle loves to sleep under blankets, whether it be on the couch, in the car, or in bed. She will cuddle up to you at night and sleep under the covers with you (most of the night). I will wake up in the morning and have her on one side and the cat on the other sound asleep. Twinkle will let me know if someone pulls in the driveway but perking up her ears and looking out the window. She will also let me know if the cat wants to come inside by whining and going to the door. She will also let me know when the baby is awake from her nap by going to her door and whining. She does more whining than barking. I think she has only barked 3 or 4 times since she has been here. Twinkle is EXCELLENT with other dogs (as long as the other dogs wants to be around her). She lays on the floor on her back and tries to engage them in play. She was around 4 dogs the first night we got her and she did GREAT! All she wanted to do was play, play, play. Twinkle is EXCELLENT with my 18-month-old daughter. She lets my daughter give her hugs and kisses and lay with her. She will sit in my daughter's playroom and watch tv with her or watch her play and try to play along too (if my daughter allows). Twinkle would eat all day long if you let her but has been doing very well on the chicken and rice, and puppy food 3 times a day. She inhales it in seconds, but is starting to slow down on eating so fast now. Twinkle is an all over excellent little puppy (aside from the pottying in the house, which is expected). She is just so good and lovable and a really great companion."

12-15-08 Twinkle is a teeny little love. She bounded off the transport and couldn't wait to hop into a warm car and snuggle. She is a little skinny, needs some good Maine snacks! ; 0 ) She was great with the other dogs there, and her foster family will give us more updates as they get to know her so stay tuned!

12/13/08 Twinkle is on her way to Maine today!

12-2-08 Twinkle is a little sweetie who would prefer to grow up in a family rather than a shelter! Maybe your house could be her home for the holidays?
She is a sweet baby, approx. 4 months old and ready to play!

* All our dogs are in partner shelters in the south unless marked "In Maine" or "In New England"
