My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt.

Kenji, Karma and Kipling are five months old as of the beginning of September. They weigh between 18-20 pounds. They were rescued from Tijuana, with 4 other siblings (who have since been adopted), in May when they were four weeks old. They have been well-socialized in their foster home and they love playing with other dogs, they would do well with children who know how to handle puppies. They are a mix of several breeds – Mastiff, Shepherd, Dachshund, Beagle, Terrier, probably a little Chihuahua – a true Heinz 57. They will be medium-sized dogs, 30-40 pounds, full-grown. The adoption fee for each is $450 which covers the cost of neuter, rabies vaccine, 4 sets of puppy vaccines (distemper/parvo), fecal testing, deworming, microchip and microchip registration. Please read the following paragraph which contains information on our adoption process, and a brief overview of having a puppy, including a great article that contains especially important information for first-time dog owners to consider prior to submitting an application. We select approved applicants based not on first-come, first-served but rather on the best match for each dog.

If you are interested in meeting this dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and return it via email to poochmatch@hotmail.com no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED FOR ADOPTION. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent.

Adoption fees are tax deductible and cover the cost of the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, 4 sets of distemper/parvo vaccines, microchip, microchip registration, fecal testing and deworming.

Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. This is a great article from 3LostDogs that explains the trials and tribulations of puppyhood: http://3lostdogs.com/things-wish-everyone-knew-before-they-get-dog-2/
