My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello Everypawdy! My name is Pops and I am the newest member of the Westie Rescue of North Texas family! I am a super sweet almost 12 year old boy looking for a forever home to live out my golden years.

I came into rescue due to no fault of my own. My former owner had a baby and she worried that I wouldn't be able to play nice once the baby starts crawling. You see, one time when I was sleeping, my mom startled me and I snapped at her. I didn't mean to and I didn't hurt her but she knows that sometimes babies and toddlers can be unpredictable.

She loves me very much and wanted to be sure that I was taken care of in the very best way so she called WRNT. It was really hard on her because we had been together since I was a baby. I miss my mom but I am doing really good in my foster home. I get along well with the other doggies here and have adjusted with no problems at all.

Other than having some arthritis, I am in really good health. I had my little boy surgery this week and haven't missed a beat. Please don't discount me because of my age, I still have tons of love to give!! I have been enjoying cuddles with my foster parents on the couch. I sleep on a bed right next to their bed and am just happy as can be.

If you think a senior boy like me would be a good fit for your family, please go to www.WRNT.org and fill out an application to adopt. I will be reviewing applications and making my selection soon!

I better go....my foster brothers tell me they sniffed a rabbit in the back yard!!

**IMPORTANT NOTES**
*All of our adoptable dogs are small, and they are never to be left outside alone, ever! We only rehome our dogs to adopters that plan to have them as inside dogs and part of the family! . There is no exception to this rule!
*NO SMALL CHILDREN!! As with almost all the dogs at WRNT, young children under the age of 8 is not recommended. Many of our dogs come to us BECAUSE of small children, thus we do not rehome our dogs to homes with babies or young children.
*We do not guarantee that any of our adoptable dogs are housetrained. While most should be easily trained, keep in mind they may not be in your home for awhile. Even if they were surrendered to us as housetrained, it doesn’t mean they will automatically be housetrained in your home. Housetraining them should be easy in the right home with time, patience, and consistency.
*Only adopters with a responsible dog ownership history and excellent vet reference need apply. If you bring this pet into your heart and home, you will receive in return many years of love, companionship, and loyalty. That’s our guarantee.
