My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well hello there! My name is Tina Turner, and like my namesake, I'm a long, lithe beauty who asks you, 'What's love got to do with it?' I'm a black DSH/ Bombay mix gal who was born in late July 2016 and who says 'Love has EVERYTHING to do with it!' I'm just hoping that you will fall in love with my glamour shots and even more as you read all about me.
I have the Bombay mix's sleek, shiny black-patent-leather coat and mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes. Plus my fur is as soft as a bunny's. I have a racehorse's agile physique despite my deceptively heavy, muscular body.
I was adopted as a kitten from Buster's Friends but somehow ended up at a kill shelter. My adopter had not registered my microchip, but fortunately Buster's Friends was contacted as the purchaser of my microchip, and I am now happily situated in my foster home.
I admit that I was a little traumatized by the whole shelter experience, and I didn't know what to make of my foster mom's young son because I'd never been around small children before. However, this little guy is a champ because he's been around so many foster cats in his short little life. He actually helped my foster mom to build my trust of little people and to feel more comfortable in my new 'digs.' Canned food is a big motivator for me, and it wasn't long before I started coming out of my shell.
Now I like to come up to my foster family and ask for head scratches! Bombays are known for being extremely sociable 'Velcro' kitties, and given time, that will probably be me in my future. For now, however, I think I'd prefer a quiet home with older children or adults only. So make arrangements to meet me today, and I'll give you all the answers as to 'What's love got to do with it?'
Please don't be superstitious of black cats! You know, Groucho Marx once said, 'A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.' Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the attached 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet or Google 'Cats 101 Bombay.'
Tina Turner is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. Her adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Tina Turner, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet her.
