Polly's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Polly's Story...
Polly is a 5 year old girl who weighs about 15 pounds. When she came to us, Polly was broken in spirit, had hundreds of fleas, her ribs and spine showing, and she was heartworm positive. Polly has come so far! She loves her foster family but is still leery of new people. She has gained the weight she needed and is now heartworm negative! Polly would thrive with someone who is retired and home a good bit of the time. She potties outside and on puppy pads. Polly would prefer to be the only furry family member.

If you are interested in adding Polly to your family, please go to www.goofyfootrescue.org to complete an online adoption application. She is currently being fostered in west Tennessee and will be transported once her adoption is finalized. Transport runs to the following cities: Harrisonburg, VA; Hagerstown, MD; Harrisburg, PA; Allentown, PA; Bedminster, NJ; Southington, CT; Willington, CT.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Polly, a Hagerstown Shih Tzu/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Maltese for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Maltese dog from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Maltese breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
