Meet Dax the Dachshund! Dax is as sweet and charming as he is adorable! With one baby blue eye and one soulfuI brown, you can't help but fall in love with his sweet face. If you’ve found yourself saying “I’m looking for the perfect small dog” then look no further -- you’ve found him! We can’t say enough great things about our little Dax. He is as silent as a mouse - we haven’t heard him bark yet! He’s also the best cuddler. After a trot or two around the backyard, Dax loves to dart onto the couch and cuddle up on a blanket next to his foster mom. Dax is learning all about house manners and potty training and is doing so well. We have not yet had Dax around cats or kids so we are unsure how he does with them specifically. He would probably do best in a quiet home with the company of at least one more dog where he will get lots of love. We are very impressed by him -- we are certain you will be too!
Dax was part of a law enforcement rescue seizure that took place in Southern Oklahoma. More than 60 dogs were found in an abandoned home where they were not being fed or given any care. The environment they were living in was horrific. The images are incredibly disturbing. All were rescued, given immediate care, and have recovered from their horrific life of neglect. Dax and several others have come to Dolly's Legacy looking to find a better life. We are proud to be a part of their journey to find the homes they deserve and have promised them nothing but love, happiness and the security of loving families for their lifetime.
Dax is a purebred Dachshund, weighs 12 lbs and is an estimated 3 yrs old. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative and dewormed. He tested negative for heartworm disease. Adoption fee is $300. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled AFTER your application has been approved. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference, home ownership & fenced yard, although generally not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information.
