My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chumley: 3 year old springer spaniel/lab Good with dogs/people. kids over 8 years (due to some timidity issues) Cats unknown Partially potty trained

Chumley is such a charming & appealing boy! He's always got a smile on his face and a wagging tail. He is great with dogs and people; however, he has had an unstable background so very occasionally shows timidity. For this reason, we wouldn't put him in a home with children under 8 years of age as younger kids could overwhelm him. He's a social guy who thrives on being around people & other dogs; he wouldn't do well in a home where he was by himself a lot. Chumley's favorite things include hugs, ear scratches, playing with toys, romping with his doggy friends and going on walks. Chumley is the perfect companion in that he's active but not overly energetic. He's got beautiful coloring and markings; there's a 'bowtie' shaped mark on his forehead that give him a slightly comical air. His brilliant white coat contrasts beautifully with his chestnut markings and make him quite distinctive. At one time, Chumley was potty trained but came from an unstable, dysfunctional home where he was kept in a small room most of the time; he's now in a kennel environment. For this reason, he will need refresher training on not making 'messes' in the house but, because he's been trained at one time, he should regain the skill quite easily.
