In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!

Millie came into rescue at the end of August from a puppy mill, where she had many puppies and lived her entire life in a cage. She is beautiful: black with grey mixed in her coat and a couple white accents. She is a 6 year old, 12 pound girl who is lively and alert and very curious about everything. She is making up for being confined to a cage her whole life - everything is new to her and she is enjoying every moment! Her actions are similar to a puppy as she explores and becomes acquainted with new things and places. She especially loves to play with her little tennis balls, and she chases after them all by herself. She also loves other small dogs and her favorite pastime is chasing throughout the house with her foster Shih Tzu sibling. Because she enjoys this so much, it would be ideal if she could go to a home where there is another small dog who also likes to play. She seems to be okay with older, respectful children. Because Millie didn’t get any attention in the past, she needs a family who will be with her most of the day and include her in their lives. Millie and her foster mom are working on perfecting her house training and she is almost reliably housetrained, but her new family must also help reinforce what she has learned.

Millis is spayed, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and on flea and heart worm preventative and will have a complete dental before being adopted. She is healthy but does have a low grade heart murmur. Her veterinarian is not overly concerned about it since dogs can live a long, happy life with this condition. Millie's adoption fee is $320.00 plus $24.08 sales tax fee for a total of $344.08. Her foster family would like her adopters to live within 50 miles of Anoka and encourage them to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held every September.

To meet Millie, please complete an adoption application. Or you can also see her and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale the first Saturday of every month.
