My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ranger is a 2-year-old Catahoula Leopard. Ranger is a handsome boy, weighing 60 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, heart worm negative and up-to-date on all shots. He is house trained and just finished a 7 week basic obedience course. Catahoulas are known for their intelligence which makes them very trainable, but they are also known for their independent, sometimes stubborn streak, which means the Catahoula needs a firm and consistent hand. Ranger knows sit, stay and down, and is very treat motivated. He walks well on the leash, loves to stick his nose out the window on car rides, and is especially fond of trips to Home Depot. Ranger is good with other dogs, and although he doesn’t live with children, has been very good socially with those he has interacted with. That being said, he’s a bit of an overgrown pup with little awareness of his size and would probably do better with older children, and larger dog friends.
Ranger has a moderate to high energy level. The Catahoula Leopard is a unique breed, originally bred to hunt wild hogs in the swamps of Louisiana. They need an active lifestyle that allows them to run off all that energy. Ranger loves to run and hike and his ideal home would be with an active family who are looking for a wonderful dog to enjoy their active, outdoor adventures with.
Ranger will need a home with no cats and no small children.
