Here's what the humans have to say about me:
AMELIA is a one year old pointer/hound mix that now weighs 45 lbs. She came to us earlier this summer with her mother and her sister. All of them were emaciated and in poor condition. They were picked up all hunkered down, on a dirty blanket, by the side of the road. It's been a slow process but AMELIA is now healthy and full of life. AMELIA was in the worst shape. She only weighed 27 lbs and her back leg was broken so while the other two have been adopted, it took us longer to rehabilitate her. Once her leg healed, she went straight into PAWS BEHIND BARS to live with her inmate handler. He helped her on many fronts - gain weight, rehab the leg and then start on manners and obedience. Given what she's been through, she is incredibly happy and sweet. She loves people and gets along well with other dogs. She would make a wonderful addition if you're an active family!
