My story

Sometimes, it's debatable whether Facebook is good or bad. For every rescue or adoption, there's a wild-goose chase by an overworked volunteer due to bad information. Let's just say THIS one worked out good for GRETCHEN!

We were informed of someone's report that a cat was dying in front of an apartment building -- hadn't moved in 2 days! We get up there to find a purrfectly healthy, young kitty whose owners threw her outside when they moved away! Poor GRETCHEN was unspayed and terrified; she just froze in place, hoping her cruel owners would return for her.

GRETCHEN is now fully vetted and looking for a furrever home who will never let her outside again, let alone throw her out! She is soft black velvet and enjoys being petted; sometimes, she doesn't want you to stop but other times she'd rather just snuggle close against you.
