Maidie is a very affectionate female kitten born on June 1st 2017
She was rescued and became an Abbey Cat after she showed up in someone's backyard one day and no one claimed her.
Maidie is a ticked tabby, with half her face looking more like a ginger/orange tabby, and orange tabby features randomly throughout her fur.
She has four adorable little white paws - like little booties.
Maidie lives with two older resident cat brothers.
She's been getting along very well with all of her siblings and they have helped socialize her.
Maidie enjoys zooming around and chasing and being chased by Earl, her rowdy foster brother.
Kush (the more gentler, quieter one of the two resident cats in the foster home) enjoys grooming her and taking on a more paternal role.
He teaches her how to bat around the ball in the star chaser toy.
Maidie is taking human presence very well, and absolutely loves being petted, scratched on the head, and even scratched on the belly from time to time.
She will sit near or on you when you're sleeping and sleep with you, sometimes coming up to your face to purr loudly in your face so you will give her cuddles.
However she is still getting used to being picked up, and doesn't like that so much as she still struggles in your grasp.
Her foster mom will often find her tucked away on top of a basket of clothes in the closet, napping.
Maidie is a very good cat burglar.
She has burgled many pieces of meat and sometimes even random veggies like green beans off her human's plates or off a dish on the stove when no one is watching.
So potential future adopters should be careful to store their food away from her!
Maidie would be good with a single person or a small family, since she is a bit timid still with regards to getting picked up.
Small kids should be warned not to pick her up abruptly until she is more familiar with you.
Although she may have been separated early from her mom, she doesn't exhibit the typical kneading behaviour seen in some cats who have been weaned early.
Maidie has great temperament .
"Sweet" describes her perfectly. But if approached too closely by one of her foster brothers sometimes, she will growl and back into a corner.
Maidie has a VERY healthy appetite - she is currently being fed grain-free wet food and was also eating Fromm dry cat food (rabbit/duck)
While it is against Abbey Cat policy to adopt a single kitten under the age of 6 months to a home without a kitten of similar age for company, Maidie would be fine with a young adult cat under the age of two.
