I am up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Christian is an adorable kitten who had a very rough start in life. His mother is a stray cat living on the grounds of White Oak Baptist Convention Center. She had a litter of kittens under one of the buildings & Christian somehow managed to get into the laundry room & got stuck inside the commercial dryer vent. Christian sustained severe 2nd & 3rd degree burns on the pads of all four feet, the edges of his ears, and the end of his tail. We honestly did not think he would live & our Vet advised us to prepare for the worst. We nursed him & cared for his injuries as best we could. The skin eventually peeled off the bottom of all four feet, he lost a small amount of hair just around the very outside edge of his ears, and he lost the last inch of his tail. Miraculously he survived with no permanent injuries except for losing the last inch of his tail. He does have a "crossed eye" but his vision is fine. Christian behaves just like any other growing kitten. He loves to play with toys, chase strings, run up the stairs, etc. Christian gets along fine with our other cats and our dogs. This kitten is truly a miracle survivor & he deserves the best adoptive home possible. Christian is up to date on shots, and is scheduled to be neutered after the holidays. Our Adoption Process...
Anyone interested in adopting one of our pets should contact us for an interview. We do have a questionnaire and an adoption contract and a home visit is also required before a potential adopter is approved. Our regular adoption donation for dogs is $200.00 which includes their current shots, microchip, and spay/neuter. Our regular adoption donation for cats is $120.00 which includes current shots, microchip & spay/neuter. We do have some dogs and/or cats that may have a higher adoption donation. In this case the adoption donation amount will be noted in the description of the pet. Sunset Animal rescue increased the donation amount for dogs in 2009 due to increased costs for food, spay/neuter, medication, gas, etc. We do prefer that all adoptive families for dogs have a securely fenced yard.
