Blue's Story...
Hi, my name is BLUE! (d.o.b. 1/21/1998) I’m a loyal Heeler Mix with a big heart, and an amazing smile. When you come to greet me I get so excited, I can’t help but smile from ear-to-ear, showing off my pearly whites with great delight. If you are looking for a well-trained adult dog to settle right into your home routine, I’d love to join your family! A few of my favorite things are car rides, long walks, tummy rubs, and trotting around with toys in my mouth. I also enjoy exploring outdoors, sunbathing in my fenced backyard, and curling up next to you for lots of attention and kisses!!

If you’re wondering about my background, my story starts years ago when a nice person found me running loose down the street, dragging a chain behind me. I was rescued and found a family where I lived happily for 5 years, but sadly they couldn’t keep me, so now I’m waiting to find my true ‘Forever Family’ to spend the rest of my life with. I promise I’m a devoted boy who wants nothing more than to please you! Being a Heeler Mix, I will develop a very strong bond with my family, therefore I like to be with them as much as possible each day (not left alone and bored all the time). Simple things like going for long walks, searching for treats in Kong toys, and practicing my commands helps to keep my mind busy, and also releases my energy. Then I’ll be less-anxious if I’m left alone for short periods of time.

I admit I am very fearful of Thunderstorms, so whenever it rains I need a simple medication to help ease my worries and keep me calm (otherwise I might chew things). I’m not a bad dog at all; I’m one of the best behaved dogs you’ll ever meet. I always try my hardest to earn your love and make you happy. I just can’t help it that Thunder makes me scared and anxious. Also with my age, I do have some blurred vision, but I get around really well most of the time. Occasionally I might need guidance when it’s dark out, but I seem to do fine for the most part.

I would love to find an active owner that understands intelligent Herding/Working-dog breeds like me. Joining you for daily walks & other outdoor activities would be perfect, especially if you’re home most of the day so we can be together. I prefer a home without other dogs or small kids, but I’m fine with older kids (ages 15&up) that will give me gentle petting and play fetch with me too.

You can’t find a more dedicated, loving, and affectionate companion than me. I’ll be there for you through thick and thin, sickness and health, good days and bad. All I want is a family to be there for me too – forever. Don’t I deserve a loving ‘Forever Family’ to call my own? Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blue, a Lake Odessa Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler for sale in Lake Odessa, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler dog from a breeder in Lake Odessa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lake Odessa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lake Odessa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lake Odessa paves the way for another one to be saved.
