Bear's Story...
Bear is a 9 month old gentle giant Lab mix who was saved on his way to a high kill shelter and now needs a place to hang his holiday stocking!

Currently he stays outdoors during the day and goes inside at night or when it is cold. He is an inside dog though and needs a home that can let him be the couch dog that he is. Bear is not crated when his is indoors and should be house broken already. He is VERY gentle, but big with plenty of growing to do yet (about 45lbs. right now) and another year of puppy to go! He is good with other dogs and plays with his Shiba Inu sister every day. We don't know how he would be with small children or cats though because he has not been exposed to them yet.

$50 adoption fee and potential adopters must be willing to sign an adoption contract

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Jacksonville Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
