Jessica-ADOPTED!'s Story...
Jessica is in Maine!

12/23 update - Jessica is doing GREAT in her foster home - living with Tori and Tanner (also available for adoption) and she is doing great with housetraining and learning some house manners. She is a teeny little love!

12/15/08 Jessica has arrived in Maine and is doing wonderfully in her foster home! She is a typical happy, playful 14 weeks old puppy that just loves all. She appears papertrained too and so should be easy to house train!

11/02/08: Meet the adorable Jessica. Jessica was brought in by a good samaritan. She is about 3 months old and as cute as can be. She needs a foster home so that she can get out of the shelter and run and play.

All of our dogs are at partner shelters in the South unless marked "In New England" or "In Maine".

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jessica-ADOPTED!, a kennebunkport Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie for sale in kennebunkport, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie puppy from a breeder in kennebunkport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in kennebunkport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a kennebunkport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in kennebunkport paves the way for another one to be saved.
