Comet's Story...
Hiya everyone, my name is Comet and boy am I a cute little 2 year old. My foster mom says that I’m a really good boy but I do have a habit of taking things that don’t belong to me like shoes or toys. Really, I just like to carry them around but I may chew on them a little bit every now and then. Other than that I have to agree that I am a pretty neat-o little guy. My foster mom tells me that I was a stray and found my way to a shelter, and then it was on to AZBHR and to my current foster home. I really like it at my foster home; they have an awesome doggy door, which is great because, yes, it’s true, I’m potty trained!!!! But to be honest with you, I’m not sure what I would do without it. Oh I also have a foster brother and sister, it is great to have someone to play with and let me tell you my foster sister knows how to play. My foster siblings bark a lot but I am a pretty laid back guy and rarely ever make noise.

Since I had such a rough time there for a while I am a little on the skinny side, I weigh about 42 lbs. but I’m gaining weight everyday and will soon be just right. I do really great during chow time too, I don’t have a problem being in the same room as other pets or people while I eat and I don’t act mean or anything if someone comes near me. I was just neutered and we found out that I have Kennel Cough but I got some medicine and am already doing so much better, aren’t vets great? I also do a great job while on car rides and spend most of the ride just laying in the seat, I realize I am not the driver and I do not belong in the driver’s seat, but I will pop my head up to see the sights from time to time. Well I sure do hope I get to meet you, I know that once you meet me you will be in love.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Comet, a Phoenix Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
