My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for something a little different maybe? Well, how about a red and white beagle! Speckles is SO red and white that even her little nose is a deep red color (no Rudolph jokes please, Christmas is over!). She has auburn eyes, also lined in red…her spots get a darker red the further towards her back they are…but even the ones that appear at first glance to be black are a very dark, rich auburn. She has a very beautiful, sweet and soulful face. Speckles is not fat but she will continue to benefit by a little less food for a trimmer look and more nutrients to get her naturally sturdy and muscular body back in shape.

Speckles was turned into a shelter and found her way to BREW only because she would not hunt. Why anyone thought such a sweet and happy dog would hunt, who knows! Speckles is mildly shy, but comes around rather quickly. When she becomes comfortable her tail wags all the time, and we’re not kidding, it wags even when she’s just walking around or hanging out!

Speckles is mostly content to be petted and cuddled or to chew on some nice bones…but when you least expect it, she shows her mischievous side. She’ll run through the room, sometimes dragging anything she can with her, she’ll play with her other siblings, and here’s the really fun part: she twirls around as though she’s chasing her tail, but she’s clearly not interested in her tail at all…she just likes to spin. Several times to the left, then a break, then to the right! What a girl.

A hunter’s loss could be your gain. And a beagle with a red nose? How can you pass this up?
