My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The look on this pretty girl's face says it all. This young girl came to us from a kill shelter where her owners had turned her in because they just didn't want her any longer. For the time they had her which was from a young puppy, Honey was tied in the yard to a dog house, left and forgotten.

Honey has her breeding to thank for helping keep her sane and her sweet disposition has allowed everyone that meets her to fall in love with her.

She is a about a size down from an Aussie and a size up from a Sheltie but still a small dog that looks like a miniature of the "Littlest Hobo". A lovely companion and affectionate, fun-loving friend she is a very calm dog that is intelligent, learns quickly and is obedient by nature. Most of what she knows is inherent with the breed as they are polite, eager to please, clean and easy to get along with.

Honey enjoys company and is learning quickly what it means to live in a house and be a pampered pet. Still she is not demanding and is ever trustful as she discovers a world that she had so far been left out of. She loves children and you can see her become animated when they are in the room. With adults she is more submissive and looking for direction but with children she is eagerly wanting to be a part of whatever they are doing.

Honey is fine with other dogs and cats and probably with any other pets as well. She only needs to be told once what to do and she responds immediately. She is not a dog that you would ever need to be harsh with and in fact she needs to be talked to in a consistent, loving and respectful manner. If someone were to yell at her you would only further inhibit her growth. Each day her foster parent sees a difference as her personality blooms into the beautiful girl she is.

Honey would be a good choice for apartment living as she is a very clean and quiet dog.
