There is a great training aid called a belly band, which is really great!

Here is a video by G.W. Little to watch that shows them in action:

Belly Bands (G.W. Little)

Designer Doggie Belly Bands

Essentially, you put the belly band on your little guy while he's supervised in the house and take it off when you take him outside for a potty trip.

We do not recommend leaving any dog unattended with any kind of clothing on - belly bands are training aids that need supervision and a commitment of your time.

If he hikes his leg inside the house, he soon finds he is just peeing on himself... you then change the pad and put the band back on him. Of course, you'll need to take it off him for trips outside to the bathroom on a regular basis to train him to the proper place to relieve himself.

We have had great success with them... We had a terrible little leg hiker, and it only took a few days of training with a belly band and he started eliminating outside and was happy just marking the trees.

A belly band is also great for going to visit friends and not worrying about any accidents.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Moe, a El Segundo Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in El Segundo, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in El Segundo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Segundo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Segundo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Segundo paves the way for another one to be saved.
