My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy - Female/spayed - English Coon Hound/Beagle - 3 years of age - red and white short coat - 44 pounds

Lucy is an extremely gentle, quiet dog with an expressive face. She has a very calm and hopeful demeanor, in fact, there is an air of peace and goodness about her. Her tail flutters whenever she meets new people, cats, or other dogs in her mannered and sweetly deferential style, and she seems to be a very keen observer. Occasionally, her face breaks into an absolutely radiant smile.

Lucy came to our organization through a series of Good Samaritans who cared deeply about her fate when they learned that she had become "disposable" to her original owner because she could not hunt. Recognizing that she was a caring, honest, and intelligent dog, they took her into safe-keeping until they could find a rescue who would take her.

We could not be more grateful for their investment of effort. Lucy is a dear and responsive dog whose depth and unassuming grace make her not only very appealing, but wonderful company as well. She is house trained, shyly trusting, and extremely accepting. She loves to be stroked and hugged, and she will be a joy for her adopter(s).
