If you are looking for a kitty to adore you, here's your guy — in good time! Murphy is a handsome black gentleman whose wish is to find a guardian with the savvy and patience to bring out his inner lap cat. At times he outwardly asks for affection while at other times he is timid. He submits easily to being picked up and held for short periods, suggesting that if you can show him it's safe he'll stay forever. Although he does well with other cats, he can be dominant with them at times. He'd probably do well with a confident yet submissive companion, or with a loving cat-friendly dog. Because Murphy is shy, he's not a good candidate for living with children younger than teenagers, and even they will have to exercise patience to help him blossom. About Our Rescue Group...
ICRA is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of the abandoned cat population of Alameda and Oakland, and to educate people to their plight. We provide foster homes for our rescues until we can place them into loving homes through our adoption program. On a limited basis, we humanely trap feral cats in order to spay/neuter them before releasing them back to their colonies. Our goal is to expand our program for maintaining cat colonies in our communities. To make this expansion possible, we need more volunteers.

Our Adoption Process...
Potential adopters pick out a cat or kitten and fill out an application.
There will be a short interview with one of our volunteers. Adoptions do not happen the same day. We will arrange a time to visit your home and the foster parents and a volunteer will meet there. Our adoption fee structure is:

- Cats and kittens (six months to 8 years): $100
- Cats (over 8 years): $75
- Two cats: Full amount for the higher amount cat, half amount for the lower amount cat
For example: a kitten and an adult would be: $100 + $50 = $150
Prior to Adoption all cats and kittens are:
- Spayed or neutered
- FeLV and FIV tested
- FVRCP vaccinated
- De-wormed, and
- Treated for fleas with Advantage or Frontline
