My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***NEW***

Hello everyone! My name is Lilly and I’m a 2 ½ year old female hound mix. I am a super sweet girl who was rescued a couple of years ago by AZBR when I was just a puppy. I’ve come back to AZBR because my family wasn’t sure how to handle a dominant girl like me. I like to try to be the boss among my fellow beagle housemates. So, I do best with another dog that will let me run the pack. I’m great with cats and would be best with children that don’t want to tug on my ears all the time. I really just love my people. I follow my foster mom and dad around the house all day long. My foster dad works from home and I’ll stay on the couch in his office the whole time he’s doing his business. They say I’m pretty loyal that way. So, if you are looking for an only dog to be your constant companion, I am totally up for that task!
Just so you know, I have been waiting and waiting to find my forever home. I am much bigger than a beagle. I probably have some beagle/hound mix in me. When AZBR resscued me, I was a small puppy, and they really were not too sure what I would look like when I got big.
I made it to an event this past weekend, and everyone thought I was just gorgeous. But I am very shy and it was not easy for me to be there. So, maybe after a few more times of going around all these people I may learn to warm up a bit. They even got some good pictures of me. I am only 50 pounds and this is as big as I will get. So, please, if you would like a girl that will love you forever, I would love for you to take me home and love me back as much!!

I can be a bit nervous when meeting new people. It doesn’t take long though before I just love you to pieces! My foster parents say I can be a funny little girl. I fly like a gazelle around the backyard chasing butterflies. One of my foster siblings sits in the backyard waiting for butterflies to go by so she can chase the shadow! How silly is that? So, I’ll go bounding after her trying to point out the actual thing in sky!

My foster parents also say I am very smart. Sometimes a little too smart, but they think I would do great in training classes. I sit like a lady waiting for treats and very gentle taking them. I am sort of crate trained. I will go in the kennel willingly to eat my food and also at night to sleep soundly. However, I think all other times are a little unnecessary. I have a mild case of allergies that’s easily controlled with just over the counter Benadryl. I am housetrained and ride nicely in the car with no need for a kennel. I also walk pretty well on a leash! I’d really like to find the forever family I deserve. I hope you’ll give me a chance
