Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi…over here! My name is Brickle! I’m a shy bagel hound (basset/beagle mix) boy. Let me tell you a little about myself…I’m 4 years old and weigh about 30 lbs; I’m a submissive boy with low to medium energy. I’ve been with my foster family for a while now and I’m getting very comfortable here. Loud noises and sudden moves still startle me; but I have gotten used to the noises here, I’m not as jumpy as I used to be. When I first arrived at my foster home, I would only eat for my foster mom. Now I’ll eat for my foster dad and sister too; it took me about 5 weeks to do this. I’m crate trained at night and when no one is home. I’ll let you know when its morning by barking for a little bit when I hear the resident beagles moving about; I want to get out of my crate to play too. Once I’ve been fed and let out to do my business; I get the run of the house until foster dad has to go to work in the afternoon. My safe haven is my foster beagle’s bed in the living room. I love to hang out with him and feel safe there. When foster dad goes to work, I go back into the crate until foster mom comes home in a couple of hours. I’m so happy when she gets home that I wiggle and wiggle and wiggle with excitement. I like cuddling with my foster mom too because she give me belly rubs. I’m house trained too! I had a couple of accidents in the beginning because they didn’t know my signals yet; I’ve trained them well now! Sometimes if foster mom isn’t paying attention to me I may have an accident. I go outside on a cable tie out to do my business.
My foster family has two resident beagle mixes that I absolutely love to be with and they think I would do best if my new family has another canine for me to hang out with…I come out of my shell a little quicker when I’m with other dogs in a safe environment. My foster family says I can get goofy every now and then. I’ll run around with the resident beagles inside the house and then its nap time! When I go to the BREW events with my foster mom, I’ll settle down in the car and take a nap until we reach our destination.
I’m looking for a family that has the time, patience and love to give me a secure and safe home. Obedience training would be good too so that we can learn and bond together. I would do better in a home with older children who understand my shy issues.
If you think you qualify to be my furever family; please let BREW know.
XOXOXO
Brickle
