My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eli was found wondering a country road and picked up by a wonderful doggie angel, who called us and brought him to the Sanctuary. He is a handsome fella with a great personality, probably about 4 months old and will be on the Large size as an adult. He is mostly Golden, but there are hints of Shepherd, especially by the looks of his tail. Eli's very most favorite thing to do is make doggie angels in the snow...he will run at high speed.... flop down, make an angel, then run another ten yards and do it again!...he makes me laugh out loud! He loves to go on walks, is great on the leash, has learned to sit politely for his treats and shakes with enthusiasm.
he comes to whistle and is just a happy-go-lucky boy.
He gets along with everyone, and gets an A+ for his sharing of toys and treats. He is perfect on housebreaking, but he does use a doggie door, so will have to learn to ask to go out. He is ok in the crate and can make it through the night, but the crate is not his favorite place to be...he will whine for a few moments, then settles right down..he's like a little kid that doesn't think taking an afternoon nap is that good of an idea..he's afraid he'll miss some fun activity!
Eli will thrive in a situation where he does not have to spend too much 'alone time' as he is very social and wants to be where i am and 'help' with all the chores.
So a person with an active life or active kids, would be ideal.
He would be a great companion dog for any other dog also.
It appears that he is going to be rather large, probably around 65+lbs.
If you are looking for a big huggable dog that has an even temper and is kind...Eli might be your Fella.
We are located in McArthur, Ohio 45651 (if you would like to mapquest us) I AM sorry but we do not ship pups..just too stressful on the wee ones.

We truly appreciate your consideration of a Rescue dog...they are the BEST you know.

Adoption fees are generally $150 but we have many exceptions, such as our 11th hour rescues that we take in from pounds and will be placed for a free will donation. We seem to be able to help more dogs this way. An adoption contract is still a must, which insures that the pup can always come back here if it isn't a match and that the pet will be spayed/neutered.

Each pet comes with several training DVD's and a Pedigree puppy pack + a lifetime of Free and Unlimited Kisses and HUGS
If you are unable to adopt a pet at the moment, but would like to sponsor him(because he is soooo cute), a $20 donation will feed and treat this kid for a month.
