My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winston is no longer available

Winston is a Red & White 10 year old Cocker Spaniel. He is fostered in Courtland Ohio and his adoption fee is 150.

Bio written by his foster-trainer.

HEALTH AND GROOMING
My human will need to have me groomed every 3 months or so and I need to be sedated to be groomed. I will also need monthly heartworm medication and flea/tick treatment.

MY WISH LIST
My ideal home is one where I am the only dog but one that has cats!
I am willing to live with other dogs but need an experienced owner to verbally correct me if I exhibit resource guarding. I have worked VERY hard on this and am doing SUPER on improving this habit!

My ideal human understands that I must have boundaries. I should never be allowed on the couch or in your bed.
My ideal human should also understand that I require patience and positive reinforcement only. They should use verbal commands with me, not physical touch (example: saying OFF instead of pushing me off the couch).

What I bring to the table:

- I’m a good watchdog! I will alert you to people/dogs approaching.
- I have multiple personalities! ? I am lazy, playful, affectionate and respectful when verbally corrected.
- I have good manners. I walk wonderfully on a leash and I know how to sit and will take a treat gently from your hands.
- I’m quite the looker if I do say so myself
- I LOVE toys – mostly small toys like cat toys

I am housetrained, neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

Now for the less than flattering stuff:

- I like to bark. My humans think I see stuff because I bark outta the blue.
- I might throw a tantrum. I haven’t thrown one for a very long time with my current humans but you will have to be patient with me while I learn my place in your family.
- I’m not a huge fan of the vet and the groomer – the great news is that I don’t mind having a muzzle applied and this should always be used for my safety (and theirs!).
- My human should put my muzzle on daily, leave it on for a minute or two, then remove it and give me a super high reward.

Winston is neutered, Heartworm negative and current on vaccinations.
