Porkchop's Story...
I was born here at the shelter, that's right, I grew up right here at Family Dogs. My momma came here for adoption, but right away the people here noticed that she looked a bit more like a pot belly pig then a pooch! And what do you know, within a few days me and my siblings where introduced to the world! Now that I am 9 weeks old I feel grown up enough to get out of the shelter and into a home of my own. Yes, I will miss my people here and you better believe they will miss me! I mean look at how cute I am, and you wouldn't believe how loving and social I am! So as long as you are willing to give me a home where I can get lots of love, attention and training forever and ever my people here say it's ok if I go home with you! 9 weeks old-6lbs. My adoption fee is $260 and includes; microchip, reduced cost spay/neuter and $25 rebate, 6 week Training Class, 1 month pet health insurance, Free veterinary exam (Portland/Milwaukie area), leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Porkchop, a Portland German Shepherd Dog/Corgi puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Corgi for sale in Portland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Corgi puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Corgi breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
