My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi- I'm BUDDY! I am a one year old neutered male cat looking to find a home to call my very own! I am up to date on shots, front declawed, and have been treated for the prevention of ear mites/fleas/worms. I am extremely friendly and I love to be held, petted and to snuggle up with you! I do well with other cats. I am fine with dogs too- but it just takes me a little time to warm up to them first. I also do well with both children and adults. Did I mention that I am incredibly lovable? I am so happy to be in my foster home and to be loved and cared for again.

I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am to the great people at Advocates 4 Animals- for rescuing me! Let me tell you a little about myself- I once had a loving home where I lived indoors only with an elderly woman and several other cats. Unfortunately, my caretaker passed away. When that happened, her family did not want to care for any of us and they decided to throw us all outside in the cold- left to fend for ourselves. I had never been outdoors and I have no claws- so it was a terribly scary time in my life. I climbed up in a car engine to try and stay warm- and well, I sustained some pretty awful burns. Luckily I was rescued shortly after- but some of my former house mates are still out there, hiding and fending for themselves. I have a knick out of one of my ears and I have a few burn wounds on my body that are getting close to being healed! As soon as my wounds are fully healed I am ready and eager to be adopted into a loving home! I am available for adoption beginning 3/05/09- but you can complete the adoption process prior to this date!

If you are interested in adopting me, or in learning more about me- please contact Advocates 4 Animals today! I look forward to meeting you and to being in a loving, committed indoor home again.

***Please note, cats are extremely routine oriented pets. It may take 2 week to fully adjust to a new home environment. Please remember to be patient when bringing a new feline into your home. ***

Please contact Advocates 4 Animals to begin the adoption process.

1. A phone or e-mail interview will be conducted

2. If approved, an Advocates 4 Animals member will contact you and schedule a 'meet & greet' with the adoptable pet
The 'meet & greet' will be held in your home.

3. At that time of the home visit, we will assess if the pet(s) is a good match for both the
family/individual adopting the pet and the home environment.

Please note:

-All individuals living in the home must agree to adopt the pet into their home. All members of the home should be present during the 'meet & greet'-- including additional pets who live in the home.

-If Advocates 4 Animals determines that the pet is not a good fit for the potential adopter, this will be discussed at the time of the home visit.

-Every pet is different. Some pets have highly specialized needs (ie: type of environment, other pets, etc.) while others adjust easily to various environments. Felines typically take 2+ weeks to begin adjusting to their new home. All pets have been housed in foster homes while they wait to find a home to call their very own. All adoptable rescue pets are up to date on shots, treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms and have been spayed/neutered.

-Advocates 4 Animals requires an adoption donation fee of $50.00. The adoption donation assists us in rescuing and rehabilitating additional homeless pets. Our organization is run solely on donations and with volunteers. Without your support we could not continue our efforts!

Please contact Advocates 4 Animals and introduce yourself. Please be sure to let us know which pet you are interested in potentially adopting. We will respond within 48 hours of your request. Thank you for adopting a rescue pet!
