Jed's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, and up to date with shots.

Jed's Story...
This wonderful, well-mannered gentleman was found on the side of the road in Lafayette, Louisiana by Good Samaritans. These nice folks felt certain an owner would be looking for this sweet boy but after several weeks with no response to their flyers they released him to us. Jed is just happy, happy to be with you, happy to ride in the car, happy to go to the vet, just HAPPY!

Jed is approximately 9 years old, current on vaccinations and neutered. He is currently undergoing heartworm treatment.

Foster update 2/28/09:

Jed is doing well on his heartworm treatment.  He will have his second shot in another week or so.

Foster Update 1/29/09:

Jed is getting along great with the poodles and also my daughter's boyfriend's tiny black mixed breed puppy. Jed was neutered today and is home doing fine. He is scheduled to have part one of his heartworm treatment in two weeks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jed, a Houston Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
