Valentino's Info...

Valentino's Story...
Valentino is a distinguished senior who was rescued from animal services on February 9, 2008 after being there in protective custody since September 25, 2007. He was there through no fault of his own; his people did something wrong and he and several other dogs were confiscated. He is very sweet. He is good with other animals, is great with the cat he lives with (see photo) and birds. He sleeps with the cat and the little dog. He is good with female dogs and calm male dogs. He just wants to sleep on his bed most of the day, but enjoys short walks. He loves kids and loves cuddling. The vet said it appears he was used to fight and has suffered a spine injury caused by "blunt force". He is doing much better now that he is on pain medication and his legs are growing stronger (and he's dropped a couple of pounds). In spite of all he's been through, he's so very Sweet. If you would like to meet Valentino or contribute to Valentino's medical expenses (pain meds and acupuncture), please contact Susan at 306-7347 or email secondchancenm@yahoo.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Valentino, a Rio Rancho American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Rio Rancho, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Rio Rancho.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rio Rancho already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rio Rancho breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rio Rancho paves the way for another one to be saved.
