Galen's Story...
Comments from the Foster Home: "Galen is a quiet dog, who loves his walks, and likes to play with other dogs and gets along great with cats. He loves people and will walk right up to strangers and ask for a pet. He's not a food motovated dog, but one who pays close attention to his people and learns new things quickly. He is house broken and potties on lead and is just an all around good guy. :) He would probably do best in a relatively calm house with other dogs and cats or as just the only dog. Older or calmer natured children would probably be very well suited for this very sweet boy." ***Please stop by www.greyhoundpets.com to see more of Galen and read his blog on the "Hounds of the GPA Black Brigade" page!***

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Galen, a St Petersburg Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in St Petersburg, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in St Petersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St Petersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St Petersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St Petersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
