Buddy's Story...
Buddy is a one year old basset mix pup. He spent 8 months in a shelter and, as a result, will fully love and adore his future family. He has come SO FAR since he's come here and I am so proud of him. For example, he has learned to go potty outside and that children's toys are not necessarily Buddy's toys. :) He is just coming to the end of an 8 week obedience course and he has mastered: sit, watch, come, down, how to walk on a leash, and wait. He is still working on (but making great progress) on stay and heel. He is also practicing roll over, which is pretty funny to watch as his stubby little feet flail in the air, LOL. Buddy is crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He is a sweet puppy who deserves a family who will keep him forever and let him know what unconditional love is.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buddy, a Waukesha Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Waukesha, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Waukesha.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waukesha already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waukesha breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waukesha paves the way for another one to be saved.
