Billy's Story...
My name is Billy, and I'm a Beagle and proud of it. I have to be proud and strong, you see, as my “sister” Suzie is a bit of a scaredy-cat. Oh, no, she’s a Beagle as well, but she lacks the confidence that I exude. Not that I’m some haughty canine with my chest stuck out, ready to rumble with all the bigger dogs on campus. No, not at all. I'm a sweet and friendly fellow. I've always had to be a strong boy, though, to help Suzie and I stay safe in the harsh world. We were found together in a rural county by a gentleman who discovered that off in the woods, all alone, is nowhere for a dog—or even two! That kindly gentleman ensured that Suzie and I could come here to FOHA where we could wait safely until we find a forever home—perhaps even one together. Now, I'd do just fine on my own—I'm a manly type, you know—but I must always protect and care for little Suzie. I show her that our long tails can wag high when we go about on our walks. We needn’t hide our tails between our legs. The folks here at FOHA are so nice and promise to take good care of us until our forever family comes along. Perhaps that’s you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Billy, a Aldie Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
