found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, in need of an experienced adopter, and up to date with shots.
For the first 3 years of Sasha's life she was repeatedly beaten (including by children who threw rocks and sticks at her). Sasha also has a large scar on her back (about 5x2) that we do not know where it came from but we can only assume it was not an accident. She was then "rescued" by a neighbor who unfortunately, in turn, kept her in an outside kennel for the next two years.
Sasha does have some dominant tendencies but so far here at the shelter they have all been manageable but her new home should be prepared for a dog who will challenge them. Sasha's biggest issue is probably food aggression (and possibly toy aggression) which she will need work with in her new home. She is also not good with other dogs or kids. We were told that Sasha had met cats before and just played rough with them and she did meet a couple of mellow cats here at the shelter and she did fine with them - i think if she were to go to a home with cats she would do best with a "dog savy" cat. The last thing to mention is that Sasha is VERY strong and needs someone physically capable of handling her.
Although Sasha has a few obstacles to overcome she has already made leaps with us at the shelter. Sasha LOVES to play and will fetch for hours. She is an overall fun dog who has just had an awful life so far and needs someone who will take the time to understand her.
