UPDATE 11/2/08: Leo is still in foster care waiting his turn for adoption. If you are interested in adopting or meeting him, please e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com Leo's broken leg has healed completely. He runs and plays with the other foster kittens and you would never know he was injured. He is a very gentle and sweet boy. Leo loves to be pet and seeks out attention from his foster mom. He is still a small kitten with a thin body frame and short hair. Leo is such a lover, despite all he has been through he has kept his gentle, loving personality. Please contact us if you are interested meeting Leo.
POSTED 9/8/08: Leo is another one of our special needs kittens. He was found hit by a car in the road. weighing only 1.9 lbs and covered in fleas. He had a concussion and some abrasions on his face and his femur bone in his right rear leg was broken. Leo had surgery about 2 1/2 weeks ago to repair his broken leg and he is doing great. It will be another 4-6 weeks until his leg is completely healed but so far he has done well. He now weighs 3.5 lbs and he has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Leo immediately loves other cats and kittens. He is a gentle boy and very sweet and loving. He purrs the second you touch him or pick him up. Leo would love to find a home of his own. We would like him to be an indoor kitty because we never want him to have to go through something like this again. If you are interested in meet Leo or adopting him, please contact us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com for an application. Prior to adoption all of our cats and kittens are vet checked, leukemia tested, fecal parasites tested and dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered, and treated for fleas and any other medical conditions that they may have. Our adoption fee is $100 to help cover some of the medical costs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leo, a Putnam Hall Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Putnam Hall, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Putnam Hall.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Putnam Hall already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Putnam Hall breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Putnam Hall paves the way for another one to be saved.
