My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Mr. Manly, but sometimes my foster mom calls me Mighty because she thinks I look kind of like Mighty Mouse with my ears and tail. I was leading a lonely life on the streets until the doggie police scooped me up and took me to this doggie halfway house. I have to say the accommodations there were not that great! Fortunately, Friends of Penny took me in and I got a major upgrade in my new foster home. Now that’s more like it!

My foster mom says that I am the best tempered minpin she’s ever seen! I love other doggies, and I love my people too. I never met a creature I didn’t like. Sometimes my foster sister will growl at me because she doesn’t like to share her toys, her bed, her blankie, or her mom’s lap. (Greedy sister!) I personally think sharing things is the way to go! So I just ignore her and creep up real slow while she keeps growling. Then when I’m close enough, I lick her face to make her feel better and then she lets me do what I want. Gets her every time! Then we get to share!

I love all people, and it seems they like me too. My foster mom has 3 friends that don’t like dogs very much and get very irritated when my foster sisters bother them. But they all loved me, and I get to sit in their laps whenever they visit. I’m such a charmer I guess! If I think you have forgotten me, I put my sweet little hand up and paw at you to get your attention. I love to be held and petted. That being said, I know how to give the people their “space.” During the day, I like to hide under a big comforter and snooze for hours.

A word from my foster mom:
Mr. Manly is the sweetest little buddy ever. As soon as we first got him, I started begging my husband to let us keep him! I can already tell you I am going to cry when we find a furever home for him! He was picked up as a stray, so not a lot is known about his previous life. I feel fairly certain that he was well loved at some point. He is not shy around people at all, and he has all these little tricks! Our favorite is when he stands on his back legs and walks forward slowly. He toddles from side to side as he walks and looks like a wind-up toy robot or dinosaur! It is soooooo cute. He plays some with toys, but usually our minpin (who is a little bossy!) takes the toys away from him. He is completely potty trained, and the shelter said that he knows how to ring a bell at the back door when he needs to go out. We haven’t tried this out, but it sounds impressive!

Mr. Manly is fully vetted, vaccinated, neutered, and heartworm negative. He does have some bad breath and will eventually need to have some teeth cleaned and probably pulled. If you think Mr. Manly sounds like he would be a great addition to your home, please submit an application for him today. If you have any questions about him, please feel free to email me at allyson@rescueminpins.com.
