Rollie's Story...
Rollie is an approximately 9 to 10 year old Rat Terrier weighing 12 pounds. He was surrendered to the local animal control by his owner. Rollie is a great dog though, and is very healthy and active. He is house trained and does well in a crate for over night or travel. He is friendly with cats and other dogs and would do well with children. He is very affectionate and loves to sit in your lap and get all the attention he can. He is also fond of running squirrels up the tree. He walks well on a leash and is a very social little guy. If you fuss at him, he talks back to you with his own little barks. Rollie is truly a great dog that has plenty of years left to give some lucky person who can appreciate his friendly, outgoing nature.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rollie, a Jacksonville Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
