for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Oscar's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Oscar's Story...
I wandered up to my foster mom's home and she took me in. She looked for my owners but could not find them. Lucky for me, I am now up for adoption and looking for a new set of parents! They say that I am a wire haired, standard dachshund. I am full grown and weigh in at 23 lbs. I am housebroken and crate trained. I really, really, like being with people! I just like giving and getting lots of love. I am really sweet and would love to find a permanent lap to lay in! I hope to meet my special someone soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a Houston Dachshund/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Basset Hound for sale in Houston, or seeking a Dachshund/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Basset Hound breeders who help with Dachshund/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
