My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a chill, fun dog who will walk into your home, make himself at home, and not pee on anything or hog the Tivo? Look no further! Teddy is totally cool watching whatever shows you want to watch. He's laid back and he's up for a walk, or not, he can be persuaded to just have a quick morning pee and go back to bed if last night was hard and you need more sleep before brunch. Ted's alright with that. He can be outdoorsy, he can be patio-side for a cookout, and he can be a couch surfer - a real jack of all trades, if your trades don't require a lot of work.

Teddy was rescued very badly matted and so he had to be shaved down to the skin pretty much, but he has a poof on the end of his tail that speak of gorgeous tresses to be brushed in the future (i.e., he will be a long-haired derpy dog instead of the current short-haired derp you're currently eyeballing). A really great lady kept seeing him chained to a dog house month after month in all weather, and finally convinced the family to give him up so he could have a better life inside as a companion. Ted is fostered with other dogs and kids and he is super cool with everything. He's never had an accident in the house. Oh - if you crate him he will sing the song of his people for an hour or two, but he does eventually give up. We found that since that was his only real request and he doesn't tear up anything or poop anywhere random it's easier to just let him be Free Range Ted. He's a medium to low energy dog that's just an easy keeper, cool companion, and ready to hang out with his forever people. Please consider adopting this cool dog - we are guestimating at his breed mix because it's more likely Mississippi Long-Haired Dumpster Dog but retriever mix was an available option, though I don't know if he will actually retrieve anything he will have gorgeous hair, and setter is a pretty good one because it's close to sitter and he's great at that.

This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $375 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between noon and 2 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.
