Flashy Lady's Story...
Hi people! My name is Flashy Lady and I am SUPER sweet and loveable! My foster mom took care of me while I spent a little time at the clinic getting all of my medical intake work done and she thinks I am just the greatest! I am kennel trained and they are working on my potty training. I have been a little slow on this process...but it is understandable because I came from a puppy mill and was never taught what is is like to live in a house with people who love me. I have learned to bark to tell my people I am ready to go outside! I like to watch TV, ride in the car and I even like bath time! I am not an alpha dog at all and I get along with all the dogs I am bunking with. I walk well on a leash and I am just so happy to meet everything I come in contact with. I was pretty scared when I first came to BHRA from a puppy mill...but I am no longer so insecure and I am enjoying my foster family and just having fun! If you'd like more info on me, please contact my foster people!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Flashy Lady, a Birmingham Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Birmingham, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Birmingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Birmingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Birmingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Birmingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
