Fausto's Story...
Mr. Fausto is a true Basset gentleman. He is very sweet and loves to follow me around the house and yard. At meal time he will sing and dance, but otherwise he is very quiet. He looks young due to his size, but is about 4-5 years old. He is gaining weight, and is a real pleasure to have around. Fausto does not care for other boy dogs, so he would do best either with girl dogs, or as an only dog to someone who is home a lot. This little guy is so handsome, and one look into his sad, sad eyes will melt your heart. He is still learning obedience, as he has lived his life outdoors on a rope, but is now working on "sit". He is so appreciative of being able to come indoors that he has not had any accidents in the house- He housetrained himself! He can open doors with his nose and/or paws, and likes to counter cruise, so food needs to be kept out of reach. A permanent home is all that this lucky dog is missing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fausto, a Phoenix Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
