My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HI everyone! My name is Frito and here’s my story. I was rescued from an Ohio shelter by a very nice lady and a friend of BREW. I was lucky enough to stay in her home for over 1 year before I came to live in a BREW foster home a few weeks ago. I have been out of the shelter for a long time and am very accustomed to living in a home with people and other dogs. I am between 2 and 3 years old and a small boy. I’m just over 13 inches tall at the shoulders and weigh about 23 pounds.

I am 100% house trained and have not had a single accident in my foster home. I am crated during the day when my foster family is at work and I always keep my crate clean and dry. I do howl a little when I first go in the crate, but I settle down quickly for a nap. At night I sleep uncrated in a dog bed on the bedroom floor. I am not a super vocal dog, but will bark when I see another dog or kids playing out the window. My foster parents say I am one of the few dogs they have fostered that does not bark at feeding time! Don’t let that fool you though, because I love my food and eat all of it instantly.

I am an active dog. I love to run around the fenced yard at my foster home and play with the other dogs. I was trained to use a doggy door at my previous home and did quite well with it. I can jump pretty high, so if I go to a home with a fenced yard, the fence must be at least 4 foot tall. I also love to go for walks. I’m not a big puller, but I can be very zig zaggy as I hop from scent to scent. I tend to get a little excited, jump on people and kiss people on the face, so I would be best in a home that does not have really young, toddler age children. My foster parents highly recommend that my new home take me to an obedience class. They have taught me to sit for my food and I learned this right away. I am pretty smart (if I can say so myself) and would love the challenge of a reward based training program. I might even be a good candidate for agility training!

I live with other dogs and cats at my foster home and I get along really well with everyone here. I would love a home with other animals, but my foster parents think I would do OK as an only dog too. So, that’s my story. What do you think? Are you a potential match for me? If so, please contact BREW!
