Jonathon's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Jonathon's Story...
Jonathon is a 4-year-old chocolate Lab boy. He is on the smaller side, weighing about 55 lbs. He is shorter and stockier than an average American Lab and probably has some English Lab traits. Jonathon has a wonderful temperament and will get along well in most situations. He is good with other dogs, but is more on the dominant side. He has been socialized with men, women and older children. He would not be the best dog with the felines, but he is very gentle and loving. He loves attention and definitely loves those freeze dried salmon bits he gets when he is an extra special boy.

Jonathon walks fairly well on lead, knows how to sit and is house and crate trained. Jonathon found himself at one of the worst shelters that his rescuers have ever visited, and then found himself in the rescue van headed the heck out of there. Now, Jonathon is in a loving environment where he gets a lot of play time and good food. His foster mom thinks he is terrific and will make a great family pet. He is mild mannered and would love to find a family of his own where he gets all the attention and a good comfy dog bed to rest his head.

Jonathon is neutered, heartworm negative and up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting this good looking boy, please fill out an online application and request him in the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jonathon, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
