Mario's Story...
"Mario" is an approximately 6 month old short-haired brown tabby male kitten. He is very petite for his age and will probably remain a small cat. "Mario" is an extremely sweet boy who is very affectionate and will purr, rub and roll over enthusiastically once you start petting him. He's also just content to sit next to you and sleep without bothering anyone. He gets along with other cats and dogs (both small and large). He has not had exposure to children. He is already neutered, microchipped, dewormed, FeLV tested and has received his complete kitten FVRCP vaccination series. You may contact his foster mom, Beth, directly at bakissack@ucdavis.edu for more information or to receive a quick adoption questionnaire before meeting "Mario." Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mario, a Davis Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Davis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
