Coco's Story...
Coco is a beautiful and gentle Collie/Samoyed/Chow mix who was brought in by cops to the city shelter after her owner died in an apartment. Although depressed and distraught after losing her person, Coco has made a brave transition and now seems to be longing for some kind human company. Coco is about 5-years-old, in seeming robust health, already spayed and easy to walk. Although not ready for "swim suit season" or marathon runs due to some extra pounds, we are quite sure that with some moderate and regular exercise, Coco will soon be fit for her "Dog Fancy" cover shot. Because we are presuming Coco lived with a solitary person, we can't answer how quickly she would adjust to living in an active family with children or other pets (although she is friendly with kids on the street). She would perhaps do better as an only pet living in a fairly quiet home as presumably that is Coco's "comfort zone." Again, these are all speculations based on the little information we have on beautiful Coco. Currently, Coco is being boarded in a Manhattan dog kennel. However, we would love to get her into a caring and responsible foster or adoptive home as soon as possible. If interested in lovely Coco, please CALL US (NOT email) at (212) 427-8273 as soon as possible. After losing her beloved owner after some years, Coco needs some extra TLC.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Coco, a New York Collie/Samoyed dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Samoyed for sale in New York, or seeking a Collie/Samoyed dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Samoyed breeders who help with Collie/Samoyed rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
