My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

San is Adopted

Sam is currently fostered in Akron Ohio, and his adoption fee/donation is $125

Sam is a beautiful 11yr young male cocker spaniel.
He was surrendered to a shelter in Putnam county Ohio.
His former owners were not able to care for his veterinary needs and had to give him up.

Lucky for Sam, our rescue had the room to take him, so we got him out of that shelter!!
He was a mess!!!
His hair was matted and urine soaked, his nails were curled under into the pads of his feet.
He had a growth/mass on his rear (near rectum) that was bleeding, and his teeth were completely rotten!!
Well, after some vet visits and surgeries including a dental with 26 extractions at a cost of over a $1,000, he is on the mend and doing very well!!

Sam gets along great with other dogs, he is house-trained, and well mannered for the most part.
He has growled when being picked up, and when we grab him by the collar.
He appears to have trust issues that can be worked through with time.
It will just take an experienced cocker owner, and we believe he will do just fine.
He loves to be with people, and enjoys getting belly rubs.

Sam is now in good shape health wise, and does not look or act like he is 11, more like 7 or 8.

Sam is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.
