Kiria's Story...
Kiria is a gorgeous red brushcoat and is about 2 years old. Her owners decided they no longer wanted the responsibility of owning a dog and felt the pound would be a better place for her. Kiria is still at the pound right now because we have no room for her right now in our rescue program. The animal control officer told us she is friendly and has not shown aggression to the other dogs at the pound. The animal shelter can hold her until February 20th before they will have to put her to sleep.

If you would like to adopt Kiria, please contact the City of Keller Animal Control

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kiria, a Houston Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Houston, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
