My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there- We are BOBBIE & THOMAS! If you're searching for two lovable felines-- look no further! We're both orange with tiger stripes. We are neutered, up to date on shots, treated for the prevention of fleas, worms and ear mites and we have tested negative for both FIV and Feline Leukemia. We are housetrained/litterbox trained -- and did we mention totally lovable? We are looking for a home with no dogs (we prefer a calm endowment).

We are both laid back, but also love to play from time to time. We are approximately 1 year old. We both love to sit on your lap, to be held, to snuggle, to be brushed and petted and we just love attention! We also love to roll on our backs and lay with our arms in the air as our belly gets petted!

To tell you a little bit about our past-- it hasn't been easy! When we were young kittens, we were owned and we both loved the indoor life with our families. I guess our families moved and decided they would leave us each behind- we never understood why? We were always very good and very loving- but they just left us all alone. So there we were, outdoors and trying to survive all alone. It was scary and we were each very lonely and very hungry. We both hung out at an apartment complex hoping to find a new family or at least some food to fill our bellies. Time passed by as we dodged cars, we were shot at, kicked, rocks were thrown at us-- and we had to jump into dumpsters to find our next meal. It was not a pleasant time in our life. It was while we were each trying to survive on the cold streets that we met each other and became the best of friends. We tried our best to protect each other and we always found hidden spots to snuggle in together and try and keep each other warm. We are not related brothers- although we do look very much alike. We have just learned to depend on each other and to trust each other-- we have a bond that we never want to be broken.

Then one wonderful day we were rescued by the great people at Advocates 4 Animals! We can't tell you how lucky we are and how great it feels to be indoors again- and to be LOVED! We have regular fresh food and clean water- we have soft comfortable beds to sleep in and we have people to love us as we patiently wait a home to call our very own! Life will be purr-fect when we are adopted by someone who will be fur-ever committed to us both and provide us with a lot of love! We are dreaming of the day we are adopted. We can't wait to meet you- and we promise we will be fur-ever devoted to you-- we love people and we love affection! We will be ready for adoption as of 4/1/09- so if you are interested in me, please contact Advocates 4 Animals right away and let them know you would like to adopt us- BOBBIE & THOMAS! We can't wait to meet you!

1. A phone or e-mail interview will be conducted
2. If approved, an Advocates 4 Animals member will contact you and schedule a 'meet & greet' with the adoptable pet
The 'meet & greet' will be held in your home.
3. At that time of the home visit, we will assess if the pet(s) is a good match for both the family/individual adopting the pet and the home environment.

Please note:
-All individuals living in the home must agree to adopt the pet into their home. All members of the home should be present during the 'meet & greet'-- including additional pets who live in the home.
If Advocates 4 Animals determines that the pet is not a good fit for the potential adopter, this will be discussed at the time of the home visit.
Every pet is different. Some pets have highly specialized needs (ie: type of environment, other pets, etc.) while others adjust easily to various environments. Felines typically take 2 weeks to begin adjusting to their new home. All pets have been housed in foster homes while they wait to find a home to call their very own. All adoptable rescue pets are up to date on shots, treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms and have been spayed/neutered.
-Advocates 4 Animals requires an adoption donation fee of $50.00 per pet. The adoption donation assists us in rescuing and rehabilitating additional homeless pets. Our organization is run solely on donations and with volunteers. Without your support we could not continue our efforts!
