Hello- my name is CALISTA! I am approximately 7 months old as of 3/2009. I am a beautiful short hair dilute calico girl. I am spayed, up to date on shots, treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms and I am housetrained/litterbox trained. I am INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY! I love to sit on your lap, to be petted and held- and I simply love to be loved! I get along well with other cats and with dogs- and I just adore people! If you provide me with a loving, indoor home to call my very own- I will be forever devoted to you!
To tell you a little about my past- I was living at an apartment complex with my mother and siblings. We were freezing and starving...not to mention scared! The people did not like us living there. When we found a place to keep somewhat warm under a building, the apartment management blocked it off. Therefore we had no where to go. Lucky for us, Advocates 4 Animals Feline Rescue & Rehabilitation group came to the rescue! My sister and I are here at the rescue and we are so thankful! (Her name is Chloe). We were ill from being out in the cold and had eye infections-- and we are so thankful to see a veterinarian and be healthy now! We are ready for adoption as of 3/17/09. ADOPTION APPLICATION! .
1. A phone or e-mail interview will be conducted
2. If approved, an Advocates 4 Animals member will contact you and schedule a 'meet & greet' with the adoptable pet
The 'meet & greet' will be held in your home.
3. At that time of the home visit, we will assess if the pet(s) is a good match for both the family/individual adopting the pet and the home environment.
Please note:
-All individuals living in the home must agree to adopt the pet into their home. All members of the home should be present during the 'meet & greet'-- including additional pets who live in the home.
If Advocates 4 Animals determines that the pet is not a good fit for the potential adopter, this will be discussed at the time of the home visit.
Every pet is different. Some pets have highly specialized needs (ie: type of environment, other pets, etc.) while others adjust easily to various environments. Felines typically take 2+ weeks to begin adjusting to their new home. All pets have been housed in foster homes while they wait to find a home to call their very own. All adoptable rescue pets are up to date on shots, treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms and have been spayed/neutered.
-Advocates 4 Animals requires an adoption donation fee of $75.00. The adoption donation assists us in rescuing and rehabilitating additional homeless pets. Our organization is run solely on donations and with volunteers. Without your support we could not continue our efforts!
